When you love a genre, you don’t love it in spite of its cliches. You love it a little because of them. They’re comforting, reassuring. They welcome you back to a world you know and recognize. A world where you belong.
That doesn’t mean those cliches aren’t hilarious.
Yesterday, Cryptonym730 sent me this awesome mashup called Every Anime Opening Ever Made. It’s 4 minutes of the crap practically every anime opening uses, from closeups of hands, to sparkly tears leaking into space, to feathers, flower petals and birds fluttering across the screen. And it’s all set to the kind of hyperactive electronic J-Pop that, well, every anime opening ever made uses. It’s awesome. Enjoy.
